On Friday June 13th, over 500 delegates representing the 26,000 professional fire fighters in Florida UNANIMOUSLY voted to boycott the Florida Firefighter Games because of their intention to hold the 2009 games in Clearwater.

When informed of the illegal union busting tactics used by Clearwater Fire Chief Jamie Geer, Florida Firefighter Games officials shrugged off the CFFA, siding with making money over standing with their fellow firefighters, who have financially supported the games and the host city.
